First 10 Acts of Leadership

When you apply to be a Climate Reality Leader you actually sign an agreement committing yourself to 10 presentations or other “Acts of Leadership” during the first 12 months following your training.  It has now been seven months since I was trained and I’ve completed 13 Acts of Leadership (10 of which I’ve recorded) and have presented to about 250 people so far.  It’s been a truly rewarding experience so far including the following highlights:

November – Presented “Can We Solve the Climate Crisis” to 100 people at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
January – Presented to Acalanes High School environmental science and environment club students after school.
March – Presented “A Turning Point in the Climate Crisis” to about 40 members of the Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary.
March – Presented as part of Sustainable Contra Costa training for Certified Sustainability Advisors.
April – Presented “Climate Change and How it Impacts Wildlife” to about 40 docents and volunteers at Lindsay Wildlife Experience (a local wildlife center).
April – Partnered with Lafayette Hiking Club to organize my first ever “Climate Hike”.  Covered climate topics with a series of short 5 min. talks on the way up to Russell Peak.   See the slide show below!
